Family Ministry – April 2016

Student Ministry

If you enjoyed the original God’s Not Dead movie, I highly recommend God’s Not Dead II.  What a phenomenal movie – as good as, if not better than the first.  We had 48 students along with 9 sponsors watch the movie opening night.  The students were challenged to bring a friend with them to the movie.  We had 17 take us up on the challenge of bringing and paying for their friends’ food and movie ticket.  God’s Not Dead II was the highest attended event to date, with the most friend participation.  Please keep praying that the momentum we see building in the student ministry continues to grow and that our students continue to invite their peers to more than just events, but also to our growth groups and Elevate.

This month our Mid-Schoolers are going to be looking at the series “Overflow” which is a 3-week series about letting our stuff, compassion, and hope overflow to others.  Our High School students are going to continue looking at the RZIM Ask Series.  We have covered “Origin” and “Meaning” and will look at “Morality” in April.

Children’s Ministry

As I reflect on 7 ½ years of children’s ministry here at The People Church, I am in awe of all God has done in the ministry. What an incredible privilege to be a part of the work He is doing in the lives of children and their families.  “Thank you Jesus for allowing me the pleasure of serving You through this time.”

I also am thankful for the volunteers who devote so much of themselves to loving on children and pointing them to Jesus. I cannot imagine working with a more dedicated group of leaders than the ones who serve ‘on the hall’ week in and week out!  “I want to thank each and every one of you for your love of God, the love you have for His word, and for teaching and showing kiddos about that love!”

Lastly but not least at all, “Church family, thank you for entrusting me with leading this area of our ministry to our community! You have challenged me to grow, supported crazy ideas, and encouraged me every step of the way! THANK YOU!”

As I have said several times since February 21st, this ministry has had my whole heart! I am going to miss worshipping God with the kids on Sunday mornings. You have never heard such a wonderful rejoicing as our children singing out praises to our God.

Thank you,

Kim Adams

  1. Kim, thank you so much for all of the work that you did in our children’s area. You had to make some really significant changes and I know there were some rough waters. You handled them like a champ though and have always, quite obviously, had the children’s best interest at heart. Your love for kiddos has been very obvious! I hope that you have a well deserved break and then can settle into a much less stressful role of ministry. The Faucetts love the Adams family!
